Clear-up of the church garden

On the last Saturday in May, the day before the Holy Trinity Geneva patronal festival, a team cheerfully worked together in hot sunshine to clear up the church garden! With an array of tools and gardening gloves provided by Ursula, Churchwarden, and under her guidance the team braved a mass of tangled weeds and overgrown grass, littered with rubbish. The tall, spiky thistles weren’t the only sharp thing encountered — a Swiss army knife, with the blade open, was found as well as a thick shard of glass from a discarded bottle (along with some truly hideous items)! A strimmer and lawnmower were put to good use.
These ‘before and after’ photos show how the team managed to transform the look of the garden within a few hours!
This event was a nice demonstration of what can be achieved with good equipment, goodwill and a sense of solidarity!
